Chungnam National University (CNU) selected and awarded 18 outstanding researchers to foster a research-driven environment on campus and enhance the quality of research.
On February 19 at 3 p.m., CNU held the “2023 CNU Outstanding Researcher Award Ceremony” at the Convention Hall of the Convergence Education Innovation Center, presenting certificates of recognition to 18 distinguished researchers.
The selection process identified the top 1% of faculty, both newly appointed and currently employed, based on research performance, awarding them the title of “2023 CNU Outstanding Researchers.”
In particular, CNU revised its policies to encourage excellent new faculty members to achieve significant research outcomes in the future. This development provides a structured pathway to support faculty growth from “Outstanding New Researchers” to “Outstanding In-Service Researchers,” leading eventually to “Next-Generation Scholars” and “Distinguished Professors.”
As a result, CNU finalized the selection of 18 faculty members, including 5 outstanding new researchers and 13 outstanding in-service researchers.
- Outstanding New Researchers: Hye-Young Shin (Department of Energy Science and Technology), Jong-Chul Lim (Department of Energy Science and Technology), Jun-Ho Lee (Department of Business Administration), Sung-Tak Kim (Department of Applied Chemical Engineering), Joon-Hyung Kim (Department of Mathematics Education).
